Writing A Review
In this new world of independent publishing, reviews written by readers are very important. I have had two reviews written for Tanglewood Road and one for The Possessor. These three reviews have been very instrumental in the sale of my books. Readers believe they have to write a very detailed, involved review for it to be effective. Below is an example of a review written by a reader for Tanglewood Road in the United Kingdom. It is simple, to the point, and the message got across because 13 out of 14 readers found the review helpful.
This is a thoroughly enjoyable book that I would recommend any mystery-lover to read. The whole story-line is nicely paced and keeps you wondering until the mystery is solved and then hits you with even more whammies. An intelligent, engrossing read you just want to keep reading ’til you know what it’s all about.
After this simple review appeared in Amazon UK, the sales of Tanglewood Road skyrocketed. So, an independent author, like myself, has to depend heavily on his readers. The only requirement to post a review on Amazon is that you’ve bought the book from Amazon. The review above is three sentences long. If you have time, I’d appreciate if you’d take a few minutes a write a simple review if you’ve bought one of my books. You don’t have to put your name, so it is completely anonymous.
